ISLE of EWE

In the manner of Rumplestiltskin, Jody Hyman of New Milford, CT, transforms raw fiber from such animals as yak, musk ox, camels, alpaca, and sheep into a goldmine of sumptuous, wearable yarns. These yarns are then either knit or woven into finished garments. They may also be purchased for use in your own special project. Self-taught, she has been spinning since 1981. In 1987, Jody began selling her wares under the name ISLE OF EWE. Lessons are given, Country Craftsman wheels, and Clemes & Clemes spinning equipment are also sold by appointment.

Jody has taken many classes relating to spinning and weaving. Some of these include:

She has given demonstrations at schools, the Bridgewater Fair, Old Roxbury Days, and Experience Colonial Easton Day. She has taught privately, and at the Brookfield Craft Center in Brookfield, CT.
