Erin Washington has been dancing since age 10, after first doing gymnastics for three years at the Gymnastics Academy of Boston in Newton. She studied ballet, jazz, tap and modern for eight years at Paulette’s Ballet Studio in Newton, also competing in gymnastics on Newton South High School’s varsity team, and choreographing teammates' floor routines. In 2002 she received a B.A. in New Media from Emerson College, with a minor in Dance, having spent a semester in L.A. interning at a TV graphics studio and taking dance classes (once from Shane Sparks). Erin taught ballet, jazz, tap and pointe to all ages and levels at Paulette's Ballet Studio for six years. She has also assisted teens in tumbling and dance skills for the Simply Circus group, and taught hip hop to Needham elementary after-school students. Erin has been a member of Boston's Lady Panthers Dance Team since 2006. She has been dancing in the Urban Nutcracker starting in 2004 as a Swing Dancer and the NutHead and is pleased to be teaching dance-nastics and to be the Director of the new Tony Williams Dance Team. |
