SGF recycles and helps kids in the process! As many people know (due to their participation), we held an ongoing or perptual bottle and can drive for several years. From that, we collected (and redeemed) more than 75,000 bottles and cans which has allowed us to raise over to $3,750 for the camp scholarship program - just from bottle and can redemptions!
Although we'd love to continue receiving actual bottles and cans in our driveway, logistic-wise that is no longer posible. Instead, you can help raise the next $3,750 by recycling your redeemables (and perhaps those of others) on our own, and sending the proceeds to SGF. If you let us know your contribution is from bottle and can redemption, we'll be able to include that in our running tally. To make it even better - this is a fully tax deductible way to make a donation to SGF while doing your part for the environment. What's not to like??
How else can you help? Start a campaign to collect bottles and cans for SGF at your school or work place, or at a religious or community center you frequent. Ask your favorite local restaurant if you could put out a barrel for redeemable bottles with a sign indicating the redemption money will go to SGF (we can help you create or produce a sign if you want). Every nickel counts. If we all do this consistently, we will be able to send kids to camp on bottles and can power alone!
