Before and during
my studies, I have worked for the European Commission (the executive body
of the European Union) in various capacities, beginning as a stagiaire (intern)
in the Legislative Programming Unit, and continuing to work for the European
Commission's Delegation in Washington DC as a writer and rapporteur for Team
Europe conferences.
Much of my academic work on the European
Union overlaps with my work
on the Safe Harbor arrangement. In particular, I have an article forthcoming
in International Organization which examines the negotiation of Safe
Harbor within the broader context of the transatlantic relationship between
EU and US.
I am currently carrying out a substantial
research project with Prof. Adrienne Héritier on co-decision and informal
institution building in Parliament-Commission relations. The first fruits
of that project, which has been accepted for publication by Governance,
is currently available as a working paper from
the European Integration Online Papers
series. A second piece is currently under a revise and resubmit to Comparative
Political Studies, while a third is currently being co-written with both
Adrienne Héritier and Karl-Fredrik Bergstrom.
In Summer 2001, I taught a course at
Georgetown University on the Political Economy of European Integration (GOVT
445). Follow the link to download a course outline and bibliography.
