Looking for Cormac

A film by Jim Collier, Eric Davies, and John McKay.

BIOGRAPHIES

Eric Davies has seven years of experience in the documentary film world, as an archival researcher, producer, editor and director. In 1989, under Jayne Loader (dir:"Atomic Cafe") and Jay Freund (editor: "Trip to Bountiful"), he became the chief researcher and eventually line producer on a compilation documentary for feature release. The project was modeled on the same principles as "Atomic Cafe", using only found footage and clever editing to tell the story. The experience led him to an editing job with a Japanese satellite company, and eventually to an Associate Producer position with one of the largest documentary producers in the Japanese industry.

After producing, directing, and editing innumerable short television documentaries for the Japanese networks, Eric turned back to research for a series of award-winning films, including "History and Memory" by Rea Tajiri (Whitney Biennial), and "Couple in the Cage" by Paula Heredia and Coco Fusco (NY Film Festival-Video Visions). In 1994 he co-produced "The KennedyŐs and the Mob" (Golden Eagle Award winner) with Ed Gray for the A&E Target Mafia series, and went on to produce and write "Gangbusters" for the same series. His expertise in the fields of research have led him to form his own company, Image Nation, a multimedia archival research and production company. Clients include: Fox Television Networks, ABC, NHK, Tokyo Broadcasting Services, Times-Mirror, and Phillips Media, to name a few. Image Nation also works with independent producers, finding both footage and photographs, for projects ranging from low-budget features to experimental documentaries. At the same time, the company has allowed Eric to focus on several self-produced pieces, including Looking for Cormac.

Jim Collier has worked in the film industry for over ten years as an art director. Mr. Collier has worked on projects ranging from the Emmy winning "The Orchestra", broadcast on PBS, to various independent films including "Diary of the Hurdy Gurdy Man". Mr. Collier is currently at work on a full length play, "Lava Lamps."

John McKay is a press agent. He is currently writing Image NationŐs next project, "I CanŐt Stay In This House No More: The Jack Foy Story". This was the first time John McKay had ever played the banjo.
