3-D Models > Spray Bottle 2
 |
Objective:
- Select a household object capable of being concealed
in one hand.
- Translate the various shapes of the object into simple
polygons in Rhino 3-D, create a model, then fold the model down
into a flat surface.
- Print the resulting pattern on a light, white paper/board and actually construct the model.
|
Analysis:
- This project was an assignment for a foundation 3-D modeling
course at DePaul University.
- The screen shots above
are rendered pictures of the model I created once I had reduced
it to polygonal shapes that would be easy to construct.
- The most difficult part was, ironically, the most uninteresting part of the
model: the dodecagonal base of the sprayer.
- The trigger and nozzle
proved to be the easiest to build and construct.
- Ultimately, the
entire model broke down into 7 distinct pieces that could be easily
folded down into a flat plane for ease of construction.
- See "Spray Bottle Prototype" for photographs of the final product.
