Little known
facts about Tessalindria and Immerland:
The Crown of Tessalindria is a ring of peaks in Southern Tessamandria which form the highest mountains on Tessalindria. They are considered by many to be sacred and there are many legends surrounding them. Mt. Eliia is the highest of the peaks in the crown. The peaks form a ring and in the middle of this ring is the Grand Eliia Margah, the protected refuge of the Eladra. It is from the Grand Eliia Margah that the Eladra issued forth to build Tessamandria in the Beginnings and it is from the Margah that the water flows to fill the legendary Jualar Springs. (6/02)
The
planet of Tessalindria has three great continents: Lora, Nasha and Manna.
Immerland is in the northern end of Lora and is separated from Tessamandria by
a mountain range and from Hartana, to the east by another set of mountains. To
the west of Immerland is the great Vorsian Sea.
There were seven great ages in Tessalindrian history. The age of Beginnings, the Great Fathers, the Grayness, the Long Night, the Dawning, and the Age of Waiting and the Age of Tranquility. The story of the Smith and the Immerland king takes place about sixty-five years into the Age of Waiting. The age of Waiting started with the death of Ontalar and the dissolution of the College of Asha Vindor and ended with the Thirty Year War that devastated Mythinia. The age lasted nearly 500 years.
Oratanga of Immerland, wrote his famous book Passages, about the progressions of life approximately twenty-five years before the smith destroyed the Mankar swords.
Mindar Colloden finished compiling his monumental writing, The Great Fathers in the same year that
Mankar killed Valradicca the smith outside of Kinvara in Tessamandria.
