OPEN RECREATION

 

Offered for youth in grades 1-12.   Activities that are age appropriate.  Scheduled gym time, age designated game rooms, special interest youth programs, an arts  and crafts program, special events and little gym time are available.  Members check in at door with membership card for all drop-in & scheduled youth  program.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

 

Membership is required for 1st gr.& up participants

 

TOT TIME- Toddler - 4 years olds.   1 hour structured activity time designed to develop the fine/gross motor & social skills. Parent remains with child.  Fridays, 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. March 3 – April 7 $24 Fee- 6 wks, April 28 – May 26 – (No May 12) 4 weeks, $5 drop in fee/space permitting.

 

PRESCHOOL SPORTS- Preschoolers 3- 5 years old will be introduced to the basics of sports in a fun way. Different sports will be highlighted each week with fun games designed for gross motor skill development, group social skills and physical fitness.  Wednesdays, 9:45-10:30 a.m., March 1- April 12. 7 wks., $28 fee, April 26–May 31, 6 wks., $5 drop in fee.   

 

ARTS & CRAFTS- Free drop-in program offered on Tues., Wed., and Fridays, 2:15-4:30 pm.  Recycled materials are used for many of the projects.   Donations welcome.

 

NOW UR COOKING- Kids 3rd – 6th grade  will create a cookbook to take home that will include all the recipes they learn how to make.  Basic nutrition, utilizing math for measuring ingredients and how to make healthy food choices will be incorporated into this fun course.  Located at the LARGE, modern kitchen at FiHo 2.  Friday classes, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m..  Begins March 3 and continues for 6 weeks.  $ 30 fee. 

 

MENOTOMY MANOR- Transportation is provided throughout the year to children living in Menotomy  Manor.  On site program on Mondays and Thursdays.  Parents are asked to call for further information.

 

GYMNASTICS -Established program.  Classes for pre-school (ages 3-5), kindergarten through h.s. offered.  Year round classes.  Schedules available.

 

GIRLSintheHOUSE-On Wednesdays, 1st – 4th grade GIRLS meet at 3 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. for girls only fun at Fidelity House.  FiHo girl Volunteer Club members organize games, crafts, activities & fun.  Round up your girlfriends & come on by.  Membership or guest fee required.           

                                                                                                                

VOLUNTEER CLUB- Grades 6-8.  This is Fidelity House's Youth Board of Directors.  Members help shape the future of Fidelity House, help out with varied activities and plan group trips. Call for info.

 

GR. 1-4 SPORTS ACADEMY Game fundamentals, drills & sportsmanship are incorporated into games.  New clinics every 6- 7 weeks.  FLOOR HOCKEY--Tuesdays- New 7 week session Feb. 28- April 11.  Grade 1/2 meet 3 - 4:00 p.m., Grade 3/4 meet 4 - 5 p.m.  Registration fee is  $28 for Feb. 28 session.  BASKETBALL- Fridays- 7 week session begins Mar. 3- April 7.  Grade 1/2 meet 3 – 4 p.m., Grade 3/4 meet 4 - 5 p.m.  Registration fee is $24 for Mar 3 session.   SOCCER  – Tuesdays, April 25 – May 30.  $24. WHIFFLE BALL- Fridays, April 28—June 2 (no classes on May 12).$20 fee.     

 

3rd grade and up WNBA PROGRAM- Girls Basketball program offered  for 3rd, 4th, 5th  & 6th graders.  Every week, players will learn a different skill of the game and play a game.  7 weeks.  Weds.,  4- 5:15  p.m. Begins Mar. 1- Apr. 12.   Fee = $40 which includes a game shirt/ $32 if have shirt. 

 

Intramural basketball league for 9 – 13 year olds.  The league will strengthen  fundamentals & game experience.  Games are played Saturdays and Sundays.  Call for details. 

 

GIRLS 5TH - 8TH GRADE  SPRING HOOP  Intramural basketball league with a  mini-clinic taught by Women's high school & college coaches/players.  Shirts included. Weds. eves. Mar. 15-May 24 , $50 fee.       

  

    6TH- 8TH GRADE BASKETBALL NUTS LEAGUE- Boys Intramural program for players who want to play more hoop.  Intramural league with games played on Sundays & Friday eves.  Program will include periodic mini-clinics taught by college & high school coaches.  March 26- May 7.  Shirts included.  $50  fee. 

 

AAU- Fidelity House sponsors AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) for GIRLS & BOYS teams.  Boys Basketball teams 8th grade-14 y.o division, 9th grade-15 y.o division, 10th grade-16 y.o divisions, 11th gr. 17 and under.   The teams will compete in a number of AAU sanctioned tournaments held in the spring.   Girls AAU Basketball teams include: 11 & under, 14 & under and 16 & under divisions. 

 

SPRING RUNNING- Grades 5 & up.  Stretching, endurance & sprint running are stressed.  Thursdays, March 16- May 4 (No 4/13 or 4/20),  3:15 - 4 p.m. 6 weeks, $24 fee.

 

FITNESS CLUB-  Strengthening & conditioning weight training program utilizing fitness machines specially designed for 5th – 8th gr. youth.  5 week training periods  Current session through Mar. 18, new session March 21- May 6 (no 3/25, 4-14 thru 4/22)  Tuesdays 4:15 – 5 p.m.,  Fridays, 4:45 – 5:30 p.m., Sats., 12:15 – 1 p.m.  5 prepaid visits in training period = $20, 10 prepaid visits = $40 and 15 prepaid visits = $60.  Drop in fee = $5 per visit. 

 

DODGEBALL LEAGUE- Grades 5 – 8.  Fun, action packed intramural league on Saturday a.m., thru May 20 (no program on 4/15,  4/22 & 5/13) Games begin 10 a.m. on Sat, April 1. 5 weeks $20 fee

 

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS

 

HIGH SCHOOL GYM TIME-Monday-Friday,2:00-3:00 p.m.  Other times to be posted.

 

GAME ROOM- Open Tues-Friday, 2-9 &  Saturday 9 -4:45. The room is equipped with pool tables, ping pong, cable TV &  video games.

 

HIGH SCHOOL NITES- Monthly Sat. eves., 8 -11 p.m.  Freshman/Sophmores welcome.

ADULT PROGRAMS

 

MENS' BASKETBALL LEAGUE Teams/individuals may sign up. Team fee = $550, individual fee = $80.  Leagues year round.

 

WOMENS BASKETBALL LEAGUE- Games played on Mon. nights.  Teams/ individuals interested, please call office.

School Age Child Care Program

 

The School Age Child Care Program, established in 1984, provides a safe and creative environment for school age children.  Hours are from 2-5:30 p.m., Monday  through Friday during the school year.  Extended  care is available for children until 6:30 pm for an additional fee.  The program consists of: arts & crafts, sports, table games, group games, trips, cooking classes and special events.  A nutritious snack is served daily.   Transportation from some of the surrounding public schools is available.  We offer Full Day Programs any time school is not in session--Holidays, vacation days, 1/2  days, snow days and teacher conference days.  Families have the option of participating in the After School Program, Full Day Program or both.  Licensed under the guidelines of the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). PreSchool

 

The Preschool, now in its 29th year, is open to children 2.9 to 5 years old.  Classes are offered weekday mornings from 8:45-11:45 a.m. and afternoons from 12:15-3:15 p.m.  The Pre-School is licensed under the guidelines of the Department of Early Education and Care .  Brochures describing our Preschool are available at our office.

 

 

 

PreKindergarten

 

   This advanced Preschool program is offered Mon. through Fri., 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Registration for 3 - 5 days/wk.  Brochures describing the program in detail are available at our office.

Supporting Summer Camperships will allow children to attend our Summer Day Camp who otherwise would not have the chance to attend.   Memorial donations are gratefully accepted. Commemorative Birthday & Anniversary donations are acknowledged and appreciated.

 

 

Fidelity House Appreciation Night.

 

The Friends of Fidelity House are inviting you to attend our annual social event that demonstrates  appreciation for the generations of service Fidelity House has given and will continue to give. This special celebration will be

 held Saturday, April 29 at Arlington’s historic Town Hall!    

 

 

Attend the celebration event!  Sign up your family for a program, or two or three.   Try to get corporate donations – does your company do matching gifts? Donate your time, ideas or auction item.   Become a sponsor!  Take out an ad in our program book.  Attend the auction – and bid high!        It all helps!

 

 

 

 

RENTALS of  FIHO 2-  FiHo 2 is available for Birthday/Celebration Rentals.  We offer 2 hour time blocks.  Give us a call  at 781-648-2005.   The FUN is already built in!
