The Food Services Department celebrated National Geography Week with special menus in the Elementary Schools Friday, November 21. Maps, posters, and banners decorated the cafeterias during the week of November 17-21, and they will be available for distribution to teachers at a later date.

To help students develop good characteristics, the
Food Services Department has teamed with the Health Education Department
in the Character Education Program, at Burns, Burr, Fisher, Fox
Middle, Hooker, King, Naylor, SAND, and Webster schools. Our department
staff is encouraging good behavior in the cafeteria and rewarding students
for displaying positive characteristics. Look for the trait of the month
displayed in the cafeterias, November-Respect; December-Caring; January-Courtesy.

Mouse celebrated his 69th birthday on November 18. Mickey visited many
of our prepack school cafeterias that day and our
department served special Micky cookies to celebrate his birthday.

will be a special menu for Christmas in the schools. Check your
menus for the date for extra special items.
.......jicama is a vegetable from Mexico that looks
like a large potato and has a sweet taste. It can be eaten, raw or cooked.
