Squeeze Bayou Cajun Band, based in the Washington, D.C. area plays traditional Cajun and zydeco dance music from Southwestern Louisiana.
The band specializes in playing two steps and waltzes, however the music reflects a blend of many styles including country music, blues and Creole.
Most of their material comes from traditional sources and the vocals are sung in Cajun French.
The musicians in Squeeze Bayou have been performing traditional music at dances, festivals, parties and other events in the Washington D.C. area for over 15 years.
The band consists of Karen Collins on fiddle & vocals, Lynn Kasdorf on pedal steel, Brian Simms or Kevin Bell on accordion, Fred Feinstein on guitar, Kevin Enoch
on bass and David Lopez on drums.
In 1998 the Cajun French Music Association of Lafayette, La. awarded Squeeze Bayou the prestigous "Prix Dehors de Nous" award for best recording of the year
by a Cajun band outside of Louisiana .
