A DREAM

As I watch the beautiful sunset

I remember the first time we met

My mind wanders, I'm in a daze

They say I'm going through a phase

I close my eyes and see you appear

I wake up suddenly, you're not there

The sound of your voice lingers on

For days, months, years, it has never gone

It is always there to haunt me

In the thoughts of my memory

I hear your footsteps from the past

And seeyour face, how long will it last?

I call and reach out to touch you

Then I realize it 'isn true

It is a dream, a make believe,

I recall it all and start to grieve.
