Call me Hope by Gretchen Olson
Little , Brown and Company
Reviewer: S G.Ware, Fresh! Literary Magazine
“Call Me Hope,” is a must read. The author did an extraordinary portrayal
of a verbal abusive Mother. Hope is characterized by the author as being strong
but very aware of her Mother’s abusive behavior toward her. Her struggle to
deal with the many obstacles that cast a shadow over her self-worth,
demonstrates heroism. I was mesmerized
by the author’s characterization of Hope. The outlets, she took to smooth her
hurt that was thrust upon her was amazing. This book comes highly recommended
by Fresh! Literary Magazine as a good read. “Call me Hope, “is available in
major book stores and online at Amazon.com.

Almost Forever by Jasen Sousa
J-Rock, Publisher
Reviewer: S. G. Ware, Fresh! Literary Magazine
Jasen’s poems gives it readers a heavy dose of reality. His writing explores an environment that is filled with crimes and sadness. The poet’s poem titled “A Breath of Life,” is very powerful and captivating. He gives hope instead of false promises. Instead of allowing oneself to become a victim of your own doing or environment, use your mind to control your future. He is a very strong role model to young adults.
“Almost Forever”
tells many chilling stories of our young, searching desperation for some
significant meaning to their lives. Many young teens and adults finds themselves imprison by there
environment. They fight but at times with no ambition to rid themselves of the
violence that plague their neighbors. His work needs to be read and stored in
the minds of generation to come. Jasen’s poems comes highly recommended for both young teens and the
parents of young teens. Autographed copies are available online or at J-Rock Publishing ,
The I Tetralogy by Mathias B. Freese
Hats Off Books, publisher
Shirley Gerald Ware, Reviewer
Reviewer: S. G. Ware, Fresh! Literary Magazine
Mathias B. Freese is a very through and descriptive writer. He tells a very emotional story that reopens the cruelty the jews endured while enslaved by the Germans during the Holocaust. Many books have been written characterizing the horror and malicious cast upon a defenseless group of people. The author is very crafty in capturing every episode and keeping his audiences interested. He created a strong willed character that refused to be programed by his captures in believing that he is unpure and dirty.
“I choose to live. I care. I know. I matter. Nothing has changed, not my circumstances. I have changed an in that I am free. I work the latrines today but the guards do not know a free man is in line. I am no longer manacled to my masters. I am free, at last, Gunther. I view him no longer as the enemy-or as my soiled savior.” This is one man crusade to numb himself to all the verbal and physical abuse he received, while by a German guard. He was able to pass his solution to all the others prisoners held in captivity. This is a very strong read, I couldn’t put it down. This book is a must read. Copies are available at Amazom.com or you can order a autographed copy from the author at Hats Off book http://www.hatsoffbooks.com.
