Daydream

I wake up to the smell

of the sunflowers blooming

and the sound

of swallows

It's Saturday

and no one has told me

what to do

I watch the sunrise

on a mountain.

Or a large hill,

and the sun

fills the sky with

a thousand colors,

yellow, orange, red

purple, blue pink,

blending together

like a fresh assortment

of sorbets. For breakfast

I unwrap my croissant,

I savor the buttery flavor

melting into the homemade

raspberry jam
