INTRODUCTION
With a little encouragement
Three years ago, my son Darol
Went in search of finding
Someone that shared his values
He came to me smiling with
Melody by his side,
From that day forward
They have become inseparable
I have witness
Their interaction with each other
And the affection, they display
For their kids, friends and family
Their character is genuine,
Today, they both stand smiling,
Displaying love and affection for each other
May the same smiles they display today,
Re-surface, as their life together unfolds
Darol, I met Melody in your first introduction,
You have my blessing, welcome Melody
Family and friends are waiting, for you
To make Melody your wife

My Mother’s Eyes
She is in and out of consciousness
As she lays motionless, adrift in her bed
Her eyes in perfect focus.
As her children crowd her room
One by one they prey on her consciousness
Looking for the impossible
But knowing that she is suspended
In a galaxy beyond their reach.
“Mother”, they repeat in a soft whisper,
“Do you know who we are?”
But their question hangs stagnant in the air
Her eyes maintain their focus
As she breaks into a soft song.
They search the faces of each other
Not knowing what to think.

I believe in you
I believe that you
can become the person
you want to be
a person to admire
a person with character
a person with talent
I believe in you
you must believe
in you too

Aim High In Life
Aim high in life
Leave space for failure
Those that aim high
Have space for failure
Those that aim low in life
Are sometimes doom to failure
By not leaving enough space for failure

The Love of a Man
I loved him dearly
More than I loved myself
I took him at face worth
In thinking, he was genuine
His words were an antidote
For my enlarged heart
When he spoke I listen
Absorbing his promises
Not knowing they were once published
In the minds of many others
That loved with their minds
Instead of their hearts
I am now a believer
That love doesn’t come
From one’s lips
It flows from one’s actions
In thinking I loved and loss
Would be a terrible mistake
I learned from loving
That love is special
And one must place their copyright
On their own feeling
By loving one’s self
