Sun/Shade, dirt/soil, zones, water, pests all play a vital role in gardening. Check out the links to the left on those topics Pest Recipe In a 1 gallon jug of water add 1Tablespoon of red pepper, 1 Tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent, 1Tablespoon of garlic powder and shake up well. Pour into a spray bottle to spray on plants of all kinds. Left over dish or bath water is wonderful too. Make sure that there isn’t any bleach in it and you can use the soapy water from the washing machine if you can redirect the flow. Mosquitoes Buy mosquito dunks for your rain barrels, ponds, fountains,
or anywhere where water collects and is not moving all the time. Goldfish in a
pond will eat mosquito larvae and prevent the population from growing. A bat
house will attract bats that eat their weight each night in insects and mosquitoes
are a favorite food. Check out the reference page for sites to go to for more information. Email me to get information on other gardening tricks.
