Formatting Marks (for always ON): |
1. Click Tools/Options/View. |
|
2. Check: Tab characters, Spaces, and Paragraph marks. |

3. Click OK. |
Thesaurus: Click Tools/Language/Thesaurus, or
Shift + F7, or
Right click and choose Synonyms.

New Template: |
1. Create the basic document (Letterhead, Memo form, Invoice form, etc.) |

2. Click File/Save-as…. |

3. In the Save-as dialog box: |

i. In the File name field, enter a name for the template. |
|

ii. In the Save-as type field, select Document Template. |
|

iii. Click the Save button. |

Date Field: |
1. Click Insert/Date and Time…. |

2. Select the desired date format. |

3. If desired, check Update automatically. |

4. Click OK. |

New Auto-Correct Entry: |
1. Select the desired word, phrase, sentence or paragraph, but not the ¶. |

2. Click Tools/AutoCorrect/Options…. |
|
|
3. In the Replace field, type your “code characters”. |
|
|
4. Click Add and then OK. |
|
Text Box: |
1. Click Insert/Text Box. The cursor becomes “┼”. |
|
2. Create a Text Box by dragging the ┼. |
|
|
3. Enter text and then re-size and re-position the Text Box as needed. |
|
|
-with Text Wrapping: |
4. Click Format/Text Box…/Layout tab. |
|
5. Choose a Wrapping style and a Horizontal alignment. |

6. Click OK. |

1.
Click Table/Insert/Table…. 2.
In the dialog box, enter the number of columns and rows and click OK. 3.
Change a column width (or a row height) by dragging a vertical line
(or a horizontal line). |

Free-form Tables: |
1.
Click Table/Draw.
Cursor becomes a “pencil”. 2.
Click at a starting point and drag to form the outer boundary of the
new table. 3.
Click and drag to draw vertical and horizontal lines to form columns
and rows. 4.
To end the drawing activity, click the “pencil” button on the Tables
and Border toolbar. |

Removing
Table Guide-lines: |
1.
Click anywhere inside the table. 2.
Click Format/Borders and Shading…. 3.
Click the Borders tab. 4.
In the Setting column, click None and then click OK. (To
show table guidelines, repeat above except in Step 4 click All instead
of None.) |
Foreign Characters and Symbols: |
1.
Click Insert/Symbol…. |

2.
In the dialog box, click the Symbols tab. |
|
|
3.
Search by scrolling through each of the available fonts. |
|
|
4.
Click on the desired symbol and then click Insert, or simply
double-click on the desired symbol.
