Dear Neighbors, The MEPA public hearing for the Draft 2000 Hanscom ESPR (Environmental document outlining Massport's various plans for Hanscom Airport and their potential environmental consequences) was recessed last week, because the room was overcrowded. Some 700-800 concerned citizens showed up, and the Bedford Fire Dept. felt the situation was unsafe. Several of our neighbors attended. The hearing has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00 PM at the Bedford High School Auditorium, 9 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA 01730. The auditorium is large. The hour was reset to 7 PM, because many people may want to speak. Mudge Way is off Rte 4-225, a short distance beyond Bread & Circus on the left, just before Bedford's main street forks toward Concord. It is extremely important that citizens concerned with the growth of airport noise and traffic come again, because a number of people may wish to comment and to listen to the comments by others. Many of our public officials will attend. In addition, a large crowd is political evidence that our communities care. Please urge your friends and neighbors to come, and invite people from other neighboring towns that you may know to come and support us as well.
