As you might have guessed from my banner, I'm a bit of a nut about comics, so I'll start w/ a few of my favorites:
My current favorite (over the last 3 years) is User Friendly, an on-line daily. It's real techie's pleasure, with a strong reach, starting with the immediate lives and trials of the techies at a small independent ISP, but reaching and discussing many issues of the day. The author, Illiad, is not a great artist, but more than makes up for it with perception, subtlety, and insight into human (and not quite human) behavior.. The web site features a very lively discussion board which is the center of an active and involved community.
Only one other techie oriented on-line has caught my eye, and that's Hackles. It's less sophisticated, but published twice a week by a couple of real gentle souls w/ a very personal view of the tech world.
I was (still am) a great fan of Mystery Science 3000 (MST3K).. best humor show on TV period. For those who would like to learn more, there's only one place to go, the Satellite News. After a great 10 year run the creative minds behind the madness decided (with a little nudge from the system) that it was time to move on. Unfortunately, those wise TV gods and their legal staff decided that they would just sit on the bulk of the old episodes, and alas they are unavailable.
