HOW YOU CAN BE A CONTEST SPONSOR

Thanks for considering how you can support the Hydro Power Contest!

We invite students to tackle an experiential (not purely theoretical), rewarding, practical hydro engineering project. Because most students need technical projects during only one year of their college career, we feel that the Contest must be available on campus every year to be effective. Whether you are planning to attend HydroVision or WATERPOWER conferences or not, we will be there, and on campus, to introduce students to hydropower and to display your commitment to education and to the future of the hydropower industry.

Last year, eight student and professional engineering societies assisted us in promoting the Contest to their student and faculty contacts - over 3,200 direct contacts on about 350 campuses in North America. Each campus contact fowarded these promotional materials to club and chapter members. We sent newsletters, flyers, and e-mail announcements to all of these contacts. Each promotional piece, plus the Contest web site, included the names of the Contest's supporters and sponsors.

The Hydro Power Contest has a contributor relationship with the Hydro Research Foundation (HRF). Because the HRF is a non-profit organization, this means that sponsors and supporters can send funds to the Hydro Research Foundation, earmarked for the Hydro Power Contest, and receive tax deductions for those contributions.

Promotional materials, such as posters, tee shirts, and the web site, display sponsor names:

Baseload Supporters, contributors of at least $600, are listed in regular type.
Run-of-River Supporters, contributors of over $1,500, are listed in large font, bold type.
Peaking Power Supporters, those who contribute more than $3,000, have their company logos displayed.
Pumped Storage Supporters, those who contribute over $5,000, have their company logos shown in large, bold print.

Below are links to information sheets and a form to enroll you as a supporter for the Hydro Power Contest. Would you please print it, fill it out, and return it to me as soon as possible? We are already sending promotional materials for this school year and we'd like your company name to get as much exposure as possible on the campuses.
