Here is an old book presented with a new technology. The contents of the book "Stephen Hart and his Descendants", by Alfred Andrews are reproduced here. The pages here have also been amended with corrections and additions that many of you have sent to me.

Stephen Hart, born about 1605, was the progenitor of many Hart's now living in North America and other parts of the world. This book was originally published in 1875 to document all Harts then known to be descendants of Stephen Hart.

I've been working on putting this book on line for a few years now. The end is in sight. I have the entire book scanned in now and I am in the process of updating the index and adding corrections and other information that I have. As soon as I can, I will to assemble information that I have onto a CD-ROM. I will make the CD-ROM available here at what I hope will be a reasonable, but still to be determined, price. The CD-ROM should at least include the following things.

• The entire book with all the additions and corrections that I have received.
• The pictures in the book, as well as others, all at a much higher resolution than what is available at the web site.
• Hart family trees that I have collected, probably in both gedcom and Family Tree Maker formats.
• copies of some of the early Hart wills and other documents.
• contact information for living Hart relatives that I do not but on the web.
• Maybe some other surprises..

An original add used to advertise and sell this book in the 19th century is also included. The contents of the book, from the first page to the indices, are directly available below the line on the left.

Finally, my choices of which pages to add to this site next will be directed by your requests. If you see an ancestor of yours in the index who is on a page not yet included, let me know. I'll scan the pages that interest you as soon as I can. Also read the page about my plans for this project, where you will learn about the information that I need from you to help complete the project.
