JOSEPH HART, Saybrook, fourth son of Rev. William Hart, of the same town, and his wife, Mary (Blague), born January 13th, 1755, at Saybrook; married            , Eunice Ellery, of Hartford, Conn., daughter of John, and his wife, Eunice (Hooker). He was engaged in the mercantile business at Hartford, from 1785 to 1800, and probably later, first in company with his brother, General William Hart, and subsequently by himself, and was much engaged in the West India trade. His store was located near the river, and he appears to have been in the wholesale business. He became connected, by marriage and business, with the most noted families in Hartford, but for some cause became embarrassed, left the country, and was lost overboard at sea about 1810.

           Henry F., born May 22d, 1800. There is no account of him, but it is supposed he was lost at sea.
