This page presents much of what I know about Stephen Hart and his descendants . Stephen Hart was the progenitor of one the many Hart families in North America. It is though that he arrived in Plymouth on the ship the Lyon in 1632. He and his family moved to Hartford, Connecticut with Thomas Hooker in 1636. A few years later Stephen Hart and others settled the town of Farmington, Connecticut, where Harts have remained until the modern era. Many of Stephen Hart's descendants left Farmington to settle in other parts of Connecticut, the United States, and Canada.
This website focuses on Stephen Hart and all of his descendants.
Your first time here?If you are visiting this site to look for a possible Hart ancestor and you have information about a Hart ancestor who was born before about 1870,
try Andrews book, "STEPHEN HART and his DESCENDANTS."
Also check the small family tree that I have on line now.
If you don't find what you want in these places, send me an email message and I may be able to find what you want in information that is not yet on line.
Please help us.I'd also like to get a copy of the information you have about Stephen Hart and his descendants.
I'm especially interested in gedcom files, 19th century photographs, and 19th century (and earlier) diaries, wills and other documents.
Also, if you know of genealogy web sites for families that intermarried with Harts who are listed in the Andrews book,
please let me know about them so I can add them to the list on the right. To be included, the web sites should present information about
an original settler and their descendants.
What's New?
I continue to add pages to the online version of Andrews' book, STEVEN HART and his DESCENDANTS.
There are not many pages left to add. I expect to have the whole book available on a CD-ROM in 2002.
All the information on this website will be included, along with high resolution pictures, stories, and family trees that many of you have sent to me.
If you have information to add or to correct what you find in the Andrews book, or if you have pictures, stories, or family trees you would like to contribute, please send them to me soon, so they can be included in the new, updated release of the book.
