This is a strong Rosewood flute made from a blank gifted to me from a friend.  This flute with dark brownish veining has a low crisp tone in the key of G.  This flute has a deerskin fringe, bear fetish with a laminated base of Walnut and Purpleheart.  This flute has special meaning to me for I have the outmost respect for the person who gave me the wood.  He had no doubt that I would make a beautiful flute out of it which only made the process harder.  I plan to have many good times playing this flute and hope to play it one day with my friend.

Sunflower Flutes

This sunflower flute is a low D. Redwood was used for mouthpiece and nest. Fetish is also redwood with an abalone inlay. This flute has a deep sound as if the winds were blowing through the sunflower in the field.

This is a basic sunflower flute in the key of G .Redwood or cedar is used for mouthpiece and nest area. I also will use the same material for the flat style fetishes with a chimney cutout. Each flute is sealed by using a torch to seal from cracking then sealed as my other flutes are using several coats of shellac. They are a very light to hold and very interesting to look at .Sunflower flute are primitive looking and I try to keep them as natural as possible. Every sunflower flute has a tone and voice of there own .I feel that sunflowers are happy, bright and full of life this is same in every flute.

Big Bore Flutes

This flute was made from a discarded fireplace mantle. A beautiful low B, sturdy, flute. This flute has 1-1/4” bore giving it its low sultry sound. The wolf fetish is made from Black Walnut.

Mahogany of this quality is hard to come bye and discarded from its previous owners gave me the chance to breath life back into  this wood and to make this fantastic instrument.

This is a hard maple flute with a 1-1/4” bore. The key of low C.

The hardness of the maple gives this flute a crisp low soothing sound. This flute is a solid flute hard to hold but easy to play. The fetish is a howling wolf made from Black Walnut.

This flute started as a blank given to me from a friend the Shaman who makes great flute blanks. The wood is a Blue Pine with amber shellac giving it an green hue. The bore is 1-1/8” key of C#.The fetish is from a log of box elder with red streaks in it. This is a great sounding flute and one of my favorites.

This flute has a sad story and is special to me. When I started making this flute my brother had passed away. I did not feel like finishing it or to work on any other flutes. However after many days I completed this flute and played a song in his honor .That night when I played the tune brought tears to my eyes but I just kept playing from my heart and let the flute take over it was the best sounding music that I ever had created .This flute has a 1-1/4” bore in the key of Bb with a walnut bird fetish allowed by my  friend whose design it is.
