The Root-Children (Die Wurzelkinder)
This miniature garden won a gold medal at the 2004 New England Flower Show. It's a 3-D illustration is from the 1906 story by Sibylle Von Olfers. My sister, Katie Holbrow, built the cave, I made the 23 figures and the fountain, did the plumbing and wiring, and painted the backdrop. My mother, Mary Holbrow, did the plantings and flowers and made the turtles and capes.
