The central playground is on Worthen Rd between Mass Ave and the Lexington High School. This playground provides recreation opportunities for all ages.

• ice skating and hockey, Hayden Ice Skating Center
• little league fields
• practice fields (football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey)

• sledding hill
• softball fields
• tennis courts
• skateboard area (under construction)

The Central Playground is on the following bicycle rides:

• Lexington Center to Lincoln Line
• Lincoln Line to Lexington Center
• Lexington Center to Minuteman National Historical Parki via Old Res and Cambridge Reservoir
• Minuteman National Historical Park to Lexington Center via Cambridge Reservoir and Old Res
• Jonas Clarke Middle School to William Diamond Middle School passing Lexington High School
• William Diamond Middle School to Jonas Clarke Middle School passing Lexington High School
