Jack Eddison Memorial Bikeway

The Lexington portion of the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway is known as the Jack Eddison Memorial Bikeway. This Lexington portion was officially dedicated May 30, 1993. The Jack Eddison Memorial Garden is on the Bikeway at the driveway to the Lexington central parking lot. The plaque in the garden contains the following inscription under Jack's picture.

"Jack Eddison devoted hours and days to the successful completion of the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway from 1984 until his death in early 1993. He both lead Lexington's efforts in support of the Bikeway, and represented Lexington on the State Bikeway Advisory Committees. It delighted him to be part of the Lexington contingent when the first section of the Bikeway was dedicated in Arlington on October 3, 1992."

"It was always Jack's hope that young and old citizens would use the Bikeway all year long for recreation, exercise, and commuting on bicycle, feet, roller blades, or in strollers as well as on skis."

The drinking fountain nearby is also in his memory. Refresh yourself and enjoy the garden.
