Engineers Week Dinner Meeting
Flywheel Deployment Benefits to Grid Reliability

On February 17th the IEEE Worcester County Section will hold a joint dinner meeting at WPI’s Higgins House with the WPI/ECE Department IEEE Student Branch and the Worcester Chapter of the ASME.

The presentation by Beacon Power will be on Flywheel Deployment Benefits to Grid Reliability. Beacon Power designs and develops flywheel energy storage systems to support stable, reliable and efficient electricity grid operation. Please join us to hear Jim Arseneaux, Director of Engineering, and Rob Rounds, Project Manager for Plant Deployment as they provide an overview of Beacon’s flywheel technology and its benefit to managing the grid.

The dinner meeting will be held at Higgings House on the WPI campus in Worcester. Directions can be found at http://www.wpi.edu/About/Visitors/index.html The pre-dinner reception starts at 5:30 - 6:30  p.m., dinner will begin at 6:30 and will be followed by the presentation.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED, and must be received by February 15th. The choice of entree is steak or salmon. Cost is $10.00 for students, $15.00 for IEEE members, and $20.00 for guests
