2014 Engineers Week Banquet
Wednesday, February 19, 2014 - Higgins House WPI

We are pleased to announce the 2014 Engineers’ Week dinner at Higgins House with the IEEE Worcester County Section, WPI/ECE Department IEEE Student Branch, the Worcester Chapter of the ASME, and members of the AIAA. The dinner will be held on February 19, 2014

The Topic will be: A discussion of the underground electric distribution system serving the City of Worcester.

This year's Speaker will be Daniel J. Mungovan of National Grid. Dan was born in Worcester, MA in 1979. He received the BSEE degree in 2001 and the MSEE degree in 2002 from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He joined the IEEE in 2002, was elevated to senior member grade in 2011, and is currently active in both the Power & Energy Society and the Standards Association.

Mr. Mungovan has been employed by National Grid since 2002 and is currently a principle engineer in the distribution planning department. His main areas of interest are the planning, engineering, and operation of dense urban underground electrical systems, particularly secondary network systems. Mr. Mungovan is licensed to practice as a registered professional engineer in the State of Massachusetts.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED, and must be received by February 12th. The choice of entree is Chicken with broccoli on Pasta, Salmon, or vegetarian. Cost is $10.00 for students and $15.00 for members and guests. Please pay by check, made out to IEEE Worcester County Section, or cash at the meeting.

The dinner meeting will be held at Higgins House on the WPI campus in Worcester. Directions can be found at http://www.wpi.edu/About/Visitors/index.html. The pre-dinner reception starts at 5:30 PM; dinner will begin at 6:30 and will be followed by the presentation.
