Rules and Regulations
1.
Our league is set for Thursday’s at Southmoore Golf
Course.
2.
This year’s membership will be approximately 40 golfers.
3.
Southmoore rules groverning the 2011 golf season. Guidelines were given as follows:
a.
The 9-hole fee is ($17.00 to walk, $24.00 to
ride), there is an additional fee of
$1.00 per extra holes only if riding.
b.
If our league will not be able to fill our scheduled
times, we will have until 5:00pm on the day before to contact the Southmoore
Pro shop to turn in times.
c.
Although leagues will not be held “liable” to pay for
unused times, repeated failure to turn in times could result in loss of tee
times for next year.
d.
Our league has scheduled tee times on both nines, one
from 4-4:30 pm and the other from
4-4:45 pm.
e.
Starting tee times are at 7 minute intervals.
f.
Fivesomes ARE NOT permitted most of the time.
g.
The course requires SPIKELESS footware

We estimated our league would have 40 members and
committed to having 30 golfers each
week. Because we realize not all
groups go off as foursomes.
5.
Southmoore deserves to fill every starting time in
order to run a successful business.
It’s up to us to fulfill our commitment to them, so we are requesting
that you should notify your match and flight coordinator by Wednesday.
6.
League dues will be $45.00 this year and are
non-refundable. Over half the dues
covers the seasonal (Social) nights prizes.
Remaining monies will be applied to the annual outing expenses and/or
prizes. Dues are payable to Milt
Froehlich by May 26, 2011.
7.
Matches start May 5, 2011 and end August 26, 2010. All flight winners must be decided by
August 18th. The league championship
will be scheduled for August 26th.
8.
All NEW golfers must supply SIX 9-hole scores by April
28, 2010.
9. Plans are being made for the outing by
last years champ. It will be held on a
Thursday in September. Details will
follow as soon as they are completed.
10. It is up to you to make up your own
foursomes for each league night. IF
YOU CAN NOT PLAY ON A PARTICULAR NIGHT, YOU MUST
NOTIFY YOUR MATCH SO HE IS NOT
WAITING FOR YOU AT THE
FIRST TEE.
11.
All matches
are to be played in head-to-head competition.
Matching cards
will not be permitted.
Maximum of 2 matches may be played on any given
night (NO TRIPLE MATCHES). Matches can be played on other nights
if needed.
12.
ADJUSTED
GROSS scores for handicap calculation:
0-11
handicaps…………………maximum score = double bogey
12-24
handicaps…………………maximum score = triple bogey
13.
Handicaps are calculated on the 10 lowest scores out of
your last 20 scores.
Differental is Calculated as your adjusted gross minus minus par for the nine holes played
14. OUT OF BOUNDS (WHITE STAKES): Drop your ball within two club
lengths from where it crossed the course boundary and
play from there.
Penalty is 1 stroke only (not stroke and distance).
15. LOST BALL: Drop
your ball at agreeable spot with your
opponent and
play from there.
Penalty is 1 stroke only.
16. WINTER RULES: Play
winter rules throughout the course.
This means
you may roll the ball over with your clubhead except
within 25 feet of the
green. The ball can not be moved more than 6
inches from original position
and no nearer the hole.
17. FOOTPRINT REPAIRS:
You may improve you lie within a
sand trap if
and only if your ball is in a footprint. The method for improving your lie
is to lift your ball,
rake the footprint and PLACE back in same position.
18. SCORING MATCHES:
22 points per match

points for each hole won (net score)……………………18 points

All prizes will be determined by the rules committee.
20. Total
points at the end of the season will determine flight winners. The league
championship will be determined by a nine
hole low net play-off between the
flight winners. If necessary, a 3 hole playoff using 1/3 handicap and if there
is still a tie then we go to sudden death.
21.
All
scheduled matches will be counted.
Therefore, every effort should be
Made to play all of your matches
by the end of the season. Remember,
you
Can play matches ahead of the
schedule with the consent of your opponent.
Also remember, NO TRIPLE MATCHES.
22.
Rules and
regulations not covered above will be determined by the rules

Social
nights are scheduled just about every other week throughout the
Season. These
are to be fun nights to inject variety and humor into out
Respective golf games. They take a number of
formats such as blind
Foursome low
net, individual low net and 3-club low
net.

This is
the most important rule of all – have fun and let everyone else
Around you have fun, too.
25.
Procedures
to follow each week:
a.
See detail schedule to determine the type of play each
week.
b.
It is assumed everyone will be playing golf each week.
c.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PLAY ON A GIVEN THURSDAY, YOU
ARE EXPECTED TO CONTACT YOUR
MATCH FOR THAT NIGHT.
Verbal contact should be the
rule -
do not be satisfied with leaving a message on an answering machine.
d.
Winnings for Socials will come out of your leagues
dues. The weekly
Payout for socials will be about
$40 and will be distributed to the winners
The following week.

You will not be able to play a match on a social night if the

effort to promote meeting and playing with other league members and

Sign in at the Pro Shop and pay your green fees.

If you have made arrangements to play in a group, DO NOT SIGN UP

available twosome.

This easy to follow process will eliminate anxiety and
confusion.
