Lou is a survivor from the 1950's Jazz scene who can still put it together, along with veteran Lonnie Smith. They are well supported by two talented newcomers, Randy Johnson - a fleet fingered guitarist and Danny Burger - an agile and tasty drummer.

The four have fun together playing their mixed program of Bop and R & B, with Lou's entertaining vocals and announcements adding to the atmosphere of the occasion. The guest appearance of trumpeter Nicholas Payton on "I Can't Get Started" is a bonus which adds to the enjoyment of this informal live sesson.
