Dancing in the Dark

Tierney Sutton, vocals; Christian Jacob, piano; Trey Henry, bass; Ray Brinker, drums;

Orchestra conducted by Christian Jacob.

From the very first sound of "What'll I do", this CD positively drips class. Tierney Sutton, backed by her long-standing trio, sings her unashamed love for Sinatra with style and poignancy. Some well known, and even lesser known songs are taken on board, backed by the impeccable piano of Christian Jacob, who also conducts the strings, bass player Trey Henry and drummer Ray Brinker. "I Think Of You", captures the darkly bittersweet essence of this CD; the arrangements are created with great love and care, Ms Sutton's voice is effortless and beautiful as she strokes each note with a pristine clarity. "Where Or When", Without A Song", "I Could Have Told You", "Emily", "Last Night When We Were Young", lesser known pieces, but made into outstanding material when given a somberly tinged, almost worshipful interpretation by Ms. Sutton. A CD that is both delicate and delicious; if you like Sinatra you will love Tierney Sutton.
