Blues Express has finally released a video of the live recording done in San Francisco on December 16, 1999 during an amazing three-day blues party. The first one features Joe Louis Walker with ten video cameras capturing every move. This outstanding production focuses on the music and the audience reaction is not intrusive.
The video opens with the "Blues Express Theme Song" featuring soul singer Freddie Hughes. The links to the music and interviews are extremely well done and easily navigated.
All the tunes were written by Joe Louis Walker and he starts off the show with acoustic solos on "Your Lyin' Eyes," "Runnin' From The Devil," and "In God's Hands."
On the balance of the tunes, Walker is joined by Tom Rose on rhythm guitar, Ron Johnson on bass, and Stanley G. Hale on drums. The intense styling of Walker's slide guitar is displayed on "Bluesifyin".
This offering of eight tracks is superb and one of the most professional musical videos to hit the racks. Run out and buy this one, you won't be sorry and it is almost better than being in the live audience. I know because I was there!
