Having reviewed "back To Back" by Nils and Peter during last year, it was interesting to note the change effected by adding two more musicians to the team.

The program is made up of some of the most attractive standard songs ever written and the four sympathetic players produce relaxed and enjoyable versions of all ten. As on the previous CD, Nils and Peter are to the fore with the cool piano playing of Phil Parnell being sandwiched in the mix. Tasty drummer Rod Youngs remains quietly in the background except when required to present his brief solos.

The recording quality is superb, allowing the listener to enjoy every nuance and phrase from this classy quartet, whilst appreciating the interpretations of the songs which remain close to their original form. Nils' style evokes memories of Les Paul, but never strays far from Django.

Lovers of melodic playing will not be disappointed.
