The "Arts and Crafts" Group |
On a Wednesday night in late February, 2005, drummer Matt Wilson and his "Arts and Crafts" group performed two marvelous at the sold out intimate Sanctuary Club in Iowa City. The band was inspired to play even better than they normally would from vibrations of a very hip audience, including many of the areas top Jazz musicians, such as guitarist Steve Grismore, trumpeter Brent Sandy and trombonist John Rapson plus knowledgeable Jazz fans. |

Matt Wilson showed why he is one of todays most sought after drummers both in his accompanying and soloing. He told me that he will be performing with Danny Zeitlin at this year's Chicago Jazz Festival which I plan to attend. Most of the tunes performed were Matt Wilson compositions. |
