Wow! These are legendary musicians! The promo that came with the CD states that all were associated with Thad Jones and performed his music throughout his career, including his brother Hank (one of my very favorites) the dean of living Jazz pianists.
I could not hardly wait to get this on my radio show. How often do you get to hear an aggregation like this. I have been surrounded by these musician's music all of my life and know each one's style intimately, that makes this a treasure for me and all other Jazz fans. There are 12 tunes on the CD, eleven written by Thad Jones and one by Monk. With musicians like these, the music is exceptional.
The cover of the CD is a painting "Eirelav" by Ivan Kustura. This one is highly recommended. Get it.
