This is one for the lovers of the slide trombone, with Allen Hermann and the great Carl Fontana delivering the goods - and how!

The bone solos are fully documented in the informative sleeve notes, with due mention being given to the excellence of Stefan Karlsson and the rest of the rhythm section. Allen Hermann may not be as well known as Carl, but the fact that it is hard to tell them apart indicates to some degree the level of his performance.

Little more need be said about these great trombonists on this session, which sadly was to be one of Carl's last before he passed away in 2003. I have fond memories of Carl's beautiful solo on "Polka Dots" with Stan Kenton at the Royal Albert Hall in 1956.

If trombone is your métier, then you had better latch on to this one.
