Blue Toucan Music

There are many aspects of this recording which seem representative of the Latin American Jazz inspired by Jobim and Astrid Gilberto. The guitarist Tavares, an exceptional musician, is featured throughout and Friedlander's cello and Meurkens harmonica contribute a great deal to the finished article.

Kerry is technically a fine singer, who surprisingly scores better on the English titles rather than the Portuguese ones. Could it be that her stronger statements of the lyrics fit the mood less than Ms Gilberto's soft, gentle, laid back style.

Deserves to be checked out.
