A classy trio gives Ron Kaplan solid support for this collection of Jazz songs. Ron has a deep sonorous voice that could make quite a favourable impact on some listeners, but for the slight deviance in his vocal range which seems to indicate a discomfort with his choice of keys or even with his breath control. He might well have benefited from having an independent producer overseeing this session. It just seems that, with a little more care, this quartet could have reached a far higher level of performance.
