Patti Wicks, vocals and piano; Keter Betts, bass; Joe Labarbera, drums.
The need to love and be loved is the theme explored by Patti Wicks as she strolls carefully through these timeless conundrums. An above average pianist, she has a husky, deep voice; not a great range, but sings with assurance and care. All fourteen tracks are similar in pace and style; there is only the one approach. Tunes such as "Love Locked Out" and "If You Could See Me Now" are all touched with a wistful sadness, which pervades throughout the CD. Keter Betts and Joe Labarnera support sensitively. This is one for the connoisseur.
