The pianist, Jason Martineau, lends great support to the vocals of Buford Powers who creates a smoky atmosphere on the opening cut, "Donít You Know I Care." "Had You Been Around" is delightfully replete with nostalgia. Guitarist, Calvin Keys lends ravishing expression on the tune "Sentimental Reasons." Powers also nicely covers "My One And Only Love," "Ponciana," and "One For My Baby."
Buford Powers displays a buttery-toned vocal style. The emphasis of this product is romantically-infused ballads. This CD containing twelve cuts is a laid back collection of Jazz standards amiably rendered.
