This is the faculty's second CD which, as you might expect, is a mature and successful effort, in fact all of the soloists play to a high standard.

As teaching staff it is important for them to show the direction that their pupils might take when they graduate into the hard world of professional music.

Apart from the assured solos of all the members, there are many quality arrangements that underline in particular the solos of Rick VanMatre and Brad Goode. For good measure the fine vocal talent of Mary Ellen Tanner is added for two standards towards the end of this disc, which helps to round out the program.

A fine example of today's Modern Jazz.
