Carrie is no newcomer to the music scene, she has been involved in folk, rock and Jazz, either writing lyrics and music or as a performer. On this, her debut CD, the music and style are not entirely in the Jazz mode - in fact her voice and the music may call to mind Joni Mitchell. She is supported by a stellar team of musicians, including some tasty string writing, expert unamplified guitar from Mark Lucas, the classic sound of Ron Carter's bass and the smooth rhythm of Lewis Nash. Carrie's mellow-toned voice is warm and soft and generally she is involved with gentle relaxed story-telling which makes for pleasant listening.
