A tenor player's delight, three highly experienced hornmen "get their rocks off" in this mixed set of steaming well-known bebop themes and originals.

Frank Tiberi was Woody Herman's captain of musicians for many years - the guy who kept the young ones in line. His playing is mature and swinging which was always a Herman requirement. The same can be said of Joe Lovano who, since leaving Woody, has become an absolute giant of the saxophone and he continues to grow all of the time. George Garsone is equally talented but, due to teaching and low key appearances in New York, has been hidden from public view until the last few years. These three lock horns with gusto and have a lot of fun playing this program of swingers. They are supported by a tremendously industrious rhythm section, who do everything required to make the session successful - Adam scores heavily.
