Boredom is a disease. Like any disease, boredom can be cured. Some people rest their head on their hand when I am board and tired. Some people twiddle their thumbs when they are very bored. |
A Man Yawning |
I rest my head on my hand, as well as look around. I do these things when I am listening to a very long lecture. At the beginning, I'm okay to listen. When it is very long and repetitive, though, I have to rest my head on my hand and the teacher's words turn into "Blah blah blah. Blah blah." There are other kinds of boredom, though. When I am bored around my house, I usually lie in bed not doing anything. I don't necessarily like doing these things though. |
A Man Watching TV To Cure Boredom |
When I am listening to an extensive lecture and I am either looking around or resting my hand on my hand, I tell myself "This lecture will be over soon. Just wait." When I am lying in my bed because nobody can do anything with me, I look around my room and choose something to do. I have a TV, a computer, a Game-Boy Advanced, and books, so I chose to use one of those. Going back to lectures, there are some times when you have to hide your boredom. One time is if you are in a meeting and there are not a lot of people their. |
Another time is when you are listening to something that could really effect your life, like a lecture on how to be a parent or what adulthood is going to be like. Boredom is a disease, no question about it. Maybe one day, though, we will be permanently cured from it and we will never be bored again. I tell people about me by letting people know what bores me. |
