After the attacks on America, lots of different pictures are flying around the Internet.

Well, they all put me in the mind of the old "War Bonds" type posters from WWI and WWII.  In fact some of them are actually "adaptations" of these.  Well anyway, about a year ago I got "into" posters like that and did some web searches, and found several examples.

So, here's a few of the ones I felt interesting enough to save.  Some haven't stood the test of time all that well, and they may border a bit on the "camp" but that's from our 21st century perspective.  I still find them inspiring and/or thought-provoking.

These first two were the ones that I have been seeing "adaptations" of around that reminded me of these originals.  Nice imagery.

One of the things I find "inspiring" about these posters was they appealed to the "regular American" to do whatever they can to stick together and support each other and our armies...

Waste fats help the cause?  Amazing, eh?

Now this one...it's a bit of the opposite.  Just reminding us all that, someday, we're going to reflect back on what WE did during hard times in America.  Letting us know we can all do something to stand proud when asked, "What did you do for your country?"  Even if it was saving waste fats and not driving when you could walk...it helps.

Two posters to remind us...maybe we're not fighting for ourselves, but others who need it.  Be it our own future generations, or oppressed people elsewhere in the world...

OK...this one may be a bit more "over the top" than others, but I love it anyway.  Maybe it's the former Boy Scout in me?

But this one just rules.  :)  So many different images jamming together to assault the senses...

These last two...well, they may not seem "politically correct" now, but I don't see it that way.  This was the '40's after all, these were positive, strong role models for women and girls.  How can that be a bad thing?
