Christina Madara calculated Hurricane Lili would come ashore at Marsh Island, LA at 12:00 P.M. on October 3 as a Category 3 hurricane.
Period 10/11
Jeff Bergquist calculated Hurricane Lili would come ashore at Marsh Island, LA at 6:00 P.M. on October 3 as a Category 3 hurricane.
Lili was a Category 4 hurricane the evening of the 2nd, but fortunately was downgraded to a Category 2 before hitting West Vermilion Bay just south
of Iberia, LA. at 9:00 a.m.on October 3. Marsh Island is located very close to the actual location the hurricane came ashore.

Students had to plot the path of Hurricane Lili, measure the distance to their predicted "hit" point, convert this to nautical miles and predict the speed of her foreward movement based on accumulated data, and use this information to calculate the time of arrival.
