This Weeks Review:

T.G.I. Friday's Quesadillas Picante Salsa Flavor Snack Chips

*Sigh*

Marketers brain: "Let's put a well known Chain Restaurant on the package and people will flock to it because everyone who goes to Chain Restaurant loves their Signature Item!"

Person at TGIF: "I love these Quesadillas! I wish someone would make them in a bag so I could buy them out of a Vending machine!"

Me at TGIF: "I'm gonna order the Jack Daniel's Pork Chops because I love Jack Daniel's Whiskey, and I have a dim hope that somehow I can get sauced by the sweet, sweet liquor contained within."

Only two of the above thoughts actually exist.

When I opened the 80 cent bag, I peered into the cavernous opening of it. And I kept staring down, further and further. To say contents may have settled during transport would be like saying Charlie Sheen has slept with a few women. Tip for the week: read NET WT OZ instead of assuming bag size = amount of contents.

After the first bite, I knew I hated these things. Blah! Dry, seven day old pizza box type flavor. No resemblance of Picante flavor (or any other flavor) in sight. I can't tell if the product just isn't seasoned enough, or if the actual chip itself sucks so badly that the seasoning just gets overlooked. And it's not just me; I offered them few to others just to make sure I wasn't completely off my rocker. The consensus was clear. Awful.

This is a Poore Brothers, Inc. product, so I checked out www.poorebrothers.com (01/16/01), and on their page they have Beavis and Butthead. Go figure.

On the bottom of their chips package, it says "IN HERE, IT'S ALWAYS FRIDAY." Thank God it's not.
