Ahoy! It's been a while since the last review, but finally they've stocked the vending machine with something more interesting than Ruffles potato chips. I have noted a distinct lack of Frito-Lay corn chip type products, so maybe there's some inner boycott between them and Foodworks (either that, or Andy Capp is just kicking butt)

This weeks review:

Doritos Smokey Red BBQ Flavored Chips

I sampled one of these from a patron's bag the other day and it was pretty good, so I figured it should warrant it's own review. Normally I stay away from barbeque flavored chips, but the "Smokey Red" part implied that they were spicy tasting...or tasted like hot charcoals. Either way, I was willing to find out.

These chips are...good! The reason? They don't taste like BBQ at all! They kind of remind me of the Pizzaria chips that Keebler makes. They are very spicy, bordering on "hot". These chips are screaming for a Mt. Dew chaser.

Note: These chips contain "Beef stock", so these chips are a no-no for true vegetarians.

The bag promotes their "Win Two tickets to any event" prize game. It said "game pieces inside", but I found none! (Either that, or I ate them by mistake). Feeling robbed of my 1 in 315,000 chance of winning, I searched for reprisal at www.doritos.com, and found a photo gallery of the Doritos chick, Ali Landry! Rowr...talk about spicy!

Rating: * * * * (out of 5 stars) (one was removed because of the missing game piece, but was re-added after seeing Ali Landry).
