Now, back to our vendor product review, already in progress....
This week features another review from Michael Weishaar, editted to my liking, because when it comes to vendor reviews, I am the Outer Limits! I control the horizontal! I control the vertical! Do NOT adjust your mail reader!
This weeks review:Doritos is determined to take over the snack world, as is evident with their latest product, Doritos Spicy Cheese Sandwich Crackers. This isn't some fledgling company who licenses the Doritos name, it is actually a Doritos brand product, complete with their snappy new logo.
While they don't actually taste like Doritos, they are everything they claim to be - "spicy (not too hot, plenty of flavor) cheese (I checked the ingredients) sandwich crackers" (with the "cheese" stuff squashed between two crackers).
There were some other things listed in the ingredients that I found interesting: yellow 5 lake and yellow 6 lake were listed as flavors (I always thought yellow was a color? And where are these lakes located so I can see them for myself? How do I know if they're not stealing from precious lake #4?!); protease (isn't that only legal in Nevada?); and peanuts (which give it its lovely pasty texture....Mmmmm...paste). This was overall a pretty good snack, lots of flavor, and it leaves you with that trademark Dorito Breath.
I don't know if it will ever dethrone the king of sandwich crackers, the peanut butter and cheese crackers, but it is pretty tasty in its own right.
