Ni Hao! Welcome to another edition of vendor reviews! Now that summer's here, you'll need to keep track of which snacks you'll want to have for your next outdoor cookout. So pay close attention to the reviews, and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Lots of travel this year has kept me from vendor reviews (and strangely, I feel better than ever). Thankfully Michael Weishaar has donated his body to the science of snack food testing in my absense. Here's his latest test report, straight from the hospital.

This weeks review:

Synder's of Hanover Hot Buffalo Wing Potato Chips

Yes, you heard that right - Synder's of Hanover, my snack food arch-nemesis, my Lex Luthor of the vending machine (see my reviews for their other food-like snacks). So why did I buy these? Because I love Hot Wings! Who better to review a Hot Wing based snack?

As I took my first bite, my taste buds were treated with that familiar tangy spice of hot wings. I quickly scanned the list of ingredients, and found the secret - dried Red Hot sauce. Instead of using play-dough flavoring, as they did in their other products, they ponied up the bucks to use a name brand hot sauce, and it paid off. I am not sure why they didn't advertise this on the front of the package. Perhaps Red Hot didn't want to be associated with Snyder's. Regardless, they have taken their first step in redeeming themselves in my eyes. Hopefully this is the first step in producing a full line of bar food flavored snacks.
